Quality Assurance Manager


Function:

Responsible for the Quality Department, including monitoring, maintaining and improving Quality Management System activities. As the management representative, ensures the performance of the QMS is reviewed by Top Management for effectiveness, continuing suitability and improvement. Establish goals/objectives, prioritizing to anticipate problems, implement plans, developing methods of organization, follow through on projects to completion. The QA Manager is required to interact and cooperate with sales, production, customers, auditors and suppliers.



Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for drafting, changing, approving, issuing and maintaining documents, data and records, including the quality manual and related quality documentation.
  • Attending and contributing to management review meetings.
  • Coordinates quality system audits. Systematically reviews all QMS process to ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO/IEC 17025 requirement and identify needed corrective and improvement actions.
  • Review corrective, preventative and other QMS improvement actions and follow them up to verify desired results are achieved.
  • Interact with customers on quality related issues.
  • Holds continuous improvement/quality meetings with plant personnel.
  • Coordinates ISO 9001:2015 activities. ISO9001:2015 management representative.
  • Participates in FMEA reviews annually.
  • Maintains quality record databases.
  • Follow up on testing procedures to assure results are properly recorded, documented and filed daily.
  • Ensures statistical techniques are appropriate, proven, understood, and properly and consistently applied with the required investment in resources.
  • Assures in process control (SPC) charts are in use daily on all shifts and training in the collection of data is given to production operators, inspectors, and supervisors. Follow up of training and instruction to assure changes or additional data collection is properly implemented.
  • Assure all in-house quality problems are dispositioned daily to allow for immediate reprocessing or further processing and notify customers when applicable of potential quality problems.
  • Halts work and withholds test reports when non-confolining testing work is identified. Prevents the unintended use or further processing of products failing to pass required inspections or tests upon receipt or through all stages of processing. Authorizes the resumption of work when the cause of non-conforming work has been properly addressed.
  • Assure inspectors follow the procedure in identifying jobs inspected and moved for further processing, OK to ship, OK to plate, etc. to avoid duplication of inspection.
  • Monitors process monitoring and measurement to ensure desired results are achieved and that all requirements have been met for receiving inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection.
  • Monitors and maintains testing equipment calibration. Ensures that IM&TE that is used to monitor and measure product quality is capable of the accuracy and precision required for the measurement made.
  • Plan and control product realization processes to ensure quality objectives and testing requirements can be met.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma with minimum 3 years quality assurance experience, preferably in heat treat or manufacturing.
  • Excellent leadership and verbal/written communication skills; proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office); knowledge of ISO requirements, control plans, process flow, FMEA; ability to follow compliance plans, procedures and work instructions. Analytical and problem solving skills.
